The Instrument
Tight High Strings delivers precise, polished high string staccatos with exceptional clarity and definition. Featuring violas and violins covering the mid-high register, this library completes the Momentum series alongside Tight Low Strings.
When you want a more polished, bigger, cinematic sound where every note is perfect and precisely articulated, this library delivers. Each articulation cuts through the mix because the notes take just the necessary space—no blow, perfectly positioned.
Sampling Specifications
Round Robins: 6
Sampling Method: Modern Sampling (Performed)
Alignment: Rhythmic Peak Aligned
Each note has been meticulously aligned to its rhythmic peak, ensuring perfect quantization when composing. No manual MIDI adjustments needed to compensate for varying sample attack times.
Microphones
4 independent microphone channels with individual pan, width, volume, mute/solo, and on/off controls:
Mix Presets
Two carefully crafted mix presets for different production contexts:
- Realistic: Natural, organic sound suitable for traditional orchestral contexts. Balanced frequency response with authentic room ambience.
- Hybrid: Adds weight, character, and saturation in the mids and highs for extra presence. Designed to cut through dense cinematic and trailer arrangements.
Key Features
- Sample Start Control: Large, accessible knob allowing adjustment from 0ms (instant response for easy playing) to -250ms (preserved natural attack for realistic ostinatos). At -250ms you hear the full attack including the transition from note to note.
- Two-Button Workflow: Set up one button to bring sample start to 0ms for latency-free recording, and another button to restore -250ms and trigger retrospective recording. Play naturally, then instantly have perfectly aligned MIDI ready to quantize.
- Auto Divisi: Recorded with two groups per section (Violins 1A/1B, Violins 2A/2B, Violas A/B). Switch between Stacked (bigger, fuller sound) and Divided (realistic divisi behavior) modes.
- Zero Latency Mode: Play mode eliminates sample latency for comfortable real-time performance. Record your part naturally, then switch to preserve the full attack.
- Performed Samples: Notes flow naturally even in staccato passages because they were recorded as musical phrases, not isolated hits. The transitions from note to note were captured, which is what makes the performance flow.
